Deliberate provocation: military expert Zgurets on Shahed drones over Moldova

Defense Express analyst Serhiy Zgurets emphasized that Russia is trying to test the capabilities of certain countries through provocations in the airspace

He expressed this opinion on the Espreso TV channel.

"Today's attack on the territory of Ukraine, using drones, had certain features. In particular, there were several groups of drones and they really moved along routes that the enemy had not used before. This primarily concerns the use of Moldovan airspace, when one of the drones flew into the territory of Moldova, then it entered Ukrainian territory and was destroyed by the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces," Zgurets said.

The analyst noted that Russia continues to use provocative methods against Ukraine's neighboring states

"Russia is beginning to use provocative maneuvers to test Moldova's nerves and capabilities. Actually, for some reason, Moldova ignored this threat and said that there were no such drones over its territory. Thus, Moldova probably wants to limit the risks of further diplomatic relations with Russia. Russia has used similar methods before. In particular, cruise missiles towards Poland, which were turned around 50 kilometers from the border and moved back to our territory," he added.
