Ukrainian Defense Forces repel 46 Russian attacks near Kurakhove: 167 total skirmishes on September 9

On Monday, September 9, a total of 167 combat clashes took place along the front lines. Russian forces escalated their offensive, focusing on the Kurakhove direction

Yesterday, Ukrainian aviation, missile forces, and artillery launched 13 strikes targeting Russian troop concentrations and air defense positions, destroying five artillery systems in the process.

Frontline update

Since the start of the day, 167 combat clashes have been recorded.

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian forces launched two attacks near Vovchansk and Hlyboke.

There were 12 assaults in the Kupyansk direction. Ukrainian forces repelled Russian attempts near Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Hlushkivka, Stelmakhivka, and Lozova.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops attacked 14 times, attempting advances near eight different settlements, with their main efforts focused near Nevske, Novosadove, Torske, Hryhorivka, and Makiivka.

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 14 Russian assaults near Verkhniokamyanske, Ivano-Darivka, Spirne, and Zvanivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces attempted two attacks around Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces, with air support, launched nine assaults near Nelipivka and Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders halted 41 Russian assault actions near Vozdvyzhenka, Zelene Pole, Novotroitske, Hrodivka, Novohrodivka, Selydove, and Mykhailivka. Russian forces concentrated their attacks around Mykhailivka and Novohrodivka.

In the Kurakhove direction, Ukrainian forces pushed back 46 Russian attacks. The heaviest fighting occurred in the areas of Ukrainsk, Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka, and Heorhiivka, where 6, 7, 15, and 12 skirmishes, respectively, were recorded.

In the Vremivka direction, Russian troops launched nine assaults near Zolota Nyva, Shakhtarske, and Vuhledar, with extensive use of attack and bomber aircraft.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces attempted to dislodge Ukrainian positions near Mala Tokmachka and Mali Shcherbaky with three attacks, deploying about 10 guided bombs and around 100 missiles for airstrikes.

In the Kherson direction, Russian invaders launched nine attacks on Ukrainian positions, all of which were repelled with significant Russian losses.

No signs of Russian offensive groups forming were observed along the Belarus border.

On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, Russian forces continue to use artillery and aviation to target Ukrainian settlements, with active operations also ongoing in the Kursk region.

Russia's attacks on Ukraine

Yesterday, Russian forces launched 4 missile strikes and 97 airstrikes, including the deployment of 130 guided bombs. In addition, 4,916 attacks were recorded, 195 of them from MLRS systems.

Russian airstrikes hit several settlements including Pavlivka, Bilopilla, Hodunivka, Kupyansk, Zahryzove, Pustohorod, Halahanivka, Kharkiv, Bilokrynychne, Tverdohlibove, Shchurove, Stelmakhivka, Kurylivka, Kramatorsk, Predtechyne, Dyliivka, Toretsk, Panteleimonivka, Oleksandropil, Selydove, Kurakhivka, Trudove, Vodiane, Vuhledar, Katerynivka, Bohoyavlenka, Novoukrainka, Orikhiv, Stepnohirsk, Lukyanivske, Novoandriivka, Kamianske, Novodanylivka, Luhivske and Bilohirya.

  • Throughout the day, Russian occupation forces lost 1,380 soldiers, 50 artillery systems, and 39 drones in Ukraine.
