In April 2025, Russian forces have seized 175 square kilometers of Ukrainian land
This is according to DeepState. Russia showed the most activity at the end of March and the start of April. As a result, the main territorial gains came in the first half of April or were the result of operations carried out during that period.
DeepState analysts report that the most significant advance happened in the area of responsibility of two brigades near Suha Balka and Kalynove in Donetsk region — about 50 square kilometers, making up nearly a third of the month’s total losses.
The second-largest gain was an unexpected breakthrough near Rozlyv and Konstyantynopil in Donetsk region, where Russian forces captured another 43 square kilometers. Around Katerynivka, they advanced by roughly 30 square kilometers. Farmland near Nadiyivka was another vulnerable spot, with 11 square kilometers lost there. North of Andriivka, Russian forces seized around 15 square kilometers.
Altogether, these five areas accounted for about 85% of all territorial losses in April.
In total, Russia captured 175 square kilometers of Ukrainian land during the month.
