Russia seeks control over railroad: Ukrainian colonel on Russia's army plans

Military expert and Ukrainian Colonel Vladyslav Selezniov believes that the Russian army will try to capture Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi railway station in the near future

He said this on Espreso TV.

"Russia will try to capitalize on the advantage in manpower and equipment. Currently, the Russians are trying to take advantage of the fact that we are critically short of artillery ammunition. That is, the enemy will push forward. Control over rail lines and junctions is important for the Russians, which means that in the near future the Russian army will accelerate its efforts to capture the town of Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi because it is there that the railroad tracks leading to the territory of the Russian Federation are concentrated. It is very important for the enemy to control this particular railway station," explained Selezniov.

According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces colonel, the Russian troops will try to push the Ukrainian forces as far away from Volnovakha as possible.

"Because the distance from Vuhledar to Volnovakha is about 20 kilometers, which means that our long-range artillery can effectively operate at the Volnovakha railway junction. Also, the enemy will step up efforts to build a railroad line along the Azov coast to have backup routes for the supply of military equipment," added Selezniov.
