Coalition of Willing meeting concludes in Paris: Zelenskyy meets with Witkoff
On Thursday, September 4, the Coalition of the Willing meeting began in Paris, with President Zelensky and several European leaders arriving at the Élysée Palace. The Ukrainian leader has met with U.S. Special Representative Steve Witkoff

Leaders arrive
French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Finnish President Sauli Niinistö, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk are also attending the meeting.
Around 3:00 p.m. (Kyiv time), Suspilne, citing Zelenskyy’s spokesperson, reported that the President of Ukraine had met with Witkoff. Meanwhile, a phone call involving European leaders, Witkoff, and U.S. President Donald Trump is also planned.
Discussed readiness to take part in security guarantees: Zelenskyy shared details of the meeting
"We discussed in detail each country's readiness to contribute to guaranteeing security on land, at sea, in the air and in cyberspace. We coordinated positions and discussed the components of security guarantees. And I am grateful to everyone for understanding that the main guarantee of security is a strong Ukrainian army," the president of Ukraine wrote.
Zelenskyy noted that partners share the same view, in particular that Moscow is doing everything to prolong the negotiation process and continue the war.
"Support for Ukraine must be increased and pressure on Russia strengthened. Preparations are currently underway for the European Union's 19th sanctions package. Japan is also working on sanction measures," he said.




In addition, Clash Report notes that U.S. Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff is also present. Other participants will join the meeting via video link.
Start of the meeting
A short time later, the Élysée Palace Facebook page shared a video of the start of the coalition of the willing meeting.
Opening the session, Emmanuel Macron said that the leaders had gathered to "agree on reliable security guarantees for Ukraine and all the work that has been done in recent weeks."
