White Angels police group evacuated an elderly couple with limited mobility from the frontline town of Yelyzavetivka, Donetsk region, which is being attacked by Russian forces every day with bombs and mortars
This was reported by the press service of the Donetsk regional police.
The village of Yelyzavetivka is located just 4 km from the front line.
"Mortar shells and aerial bombs are destroying the village every day, where more than 100 people are currently living. Due to the difficult situation, more and more people are asking the police to evacuate them," the law enforcement officers said.
It is noted that the elderly people lived on the outskirts of Yelizavetivka. Their house miraculously remained undamaged, although all the other houses around were destroyed.
"Law enforcement officers carried the woman and man out of the house in their arms and took them to the hospital in an armored vehicle, where they received the necessary assistance," the police said.
After a medical examination, the pensioners will be transported to a safer area where they will meet their relatives.
