Border guards thwart Russia’s reconnaissance group's attempt to enter Sumy region

On March 31, border guards, conducting a combat mission along a section of the state border, intercepted a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group moving from Russia into the Sumy region

The press service of the Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported the information.

Border guards detected the Russian group and immediately engaged them, leading to a firefight. Rapid reinforcements from the Ukrainian Border Guard Service, National Guard, and Armed Forces, including artillery and mortar units, were deployed.

"The coordinated efforts of border guards and other Ukrainian Defense Forces members foiled the enemy's plans, forcing them to retreat," the message stated.
