Being prepared for every scenario: Poland acknowledges possibility of Russian attack

Polish Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz says the situation in the world is quite tense, the country assumes Russia's attack is possible

He said this in an interview with a Polish media outlet.

According to the official, if Ukraine loses the war, Russia could attack NATO countries, including Poland. "We assume any scenario, and we take the worst ones most seriously," the defense minister said.

"The situation in the world is very serious. It's not just Ukraine, it's also the Red Sea and the Pacific Ocean. We need to be prepared for every scenario, so we conduct an audit, draw conclusions, and fill in the gaps, for example, in terms of weapons. Large-scale procurement is very important, but for me, individual equipment for soldiers is no less important," added Kosiniak-Kamysz.

Russia's reaction

Commenting on the Polish minister's statement, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that European politicians "now need to somehow pump up their public opinion, artificially excite it by inventing an external enemy," TASS reports.
