Germany hands over APCs, artillery shells, IRIS-T missiles to Ukraine

Germany has provided another package of military assistance to Ukraine. It includes, among other things, more than 1,000 pieces of 155 mm artillery ammunition.

In addition to the artillery, the package includes:

  • 24 armoured personnel carriers (the same number had already been delivered earlier),
  • 4 Bandvagn 206 (BV206) multi-purpose tracked vehicles (69 of them were previously delivered to the Armed Forces),
  • 1 BIBER bridge paver with spare parts (14 units are already in use),
  • 3 WISENT 1 demining tanks (Ukraine has a total of 19 such tanks),
  • 14 special devices for demining tanks (11 were previously transferred).

Germany also handed over to Ukraine an IRIS-T air defence missile, a sea mine countermeasures system, a Satcom video surveillance system, 4 vehicles for border guards, 450 snow chains (for vehicles) and 194,000 dry rations for the military.

  • The day before, Energoatom reported that Germany had provided €14.6 million worth of equipment to Ukraine that will allow it to modernise the physical protection systems of Rivne and South Ukrainian NPPs.
