98 combat clashes took place at frontline on Feb.24: Russia launches about 5,000 attack on Ukraine

On Monday, February 24, 98 clashes were recorded on the Russian-Ukrainian front, with the most fighting occurring in the Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka directions

98 combat clashes were registered at the frontline over the past day.

According to the updated information, yesterday Russia carried out 85 air strikes on Ukrainian troops' positions and settlements, dropping 117 guided bombs. In addition, it launched about 5,000 attacks, including 108 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 2,438 "kamikaze" drones.

One settlement in Chernihiv region; 2 settlements in Zaporizhzhia region were hit by Russian air strikes.

Over the past day, the missile troops and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck three Russian troop concentrations, weapons and military equipment, a command center and a Russian Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile system.

Frontline update

In the Kharkiv direction, Russian troops tried to break through the Ukrainian defenses twice near Vovchansk.

In the Kupyansk direction, 11 attacks took place yesterday. The Ukrainian troops fought off the Russian assault near Petropavlivka, Zahryzove and Nova Kruhliakivka.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops attacked six times. They tried to break into Ukrainian defense near the settlements of Zelena Dolyna, Borivska Andriivka, Novoliubivka, Dibrova and Katerynivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces attacked twice near Chasiv Yar and Stupochoky.

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces carried out 11 attacks near Toretsk and Krymske.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 28 Russian assault actions towards Vodiane Druhe, Promin, Pokrovsk, Leontovychi, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Nadiivka, Troitske, Andriivka, Tarasivka and Ulakly.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Russian troops launched 13 attacks in the direction of Kostiantynopil and Burlatske over the past day.

In the Huliaipole direction, Ukrainian troops beat back one attack near Novopole.

In the Orikhiv direction, the occupying Russian forces stormed the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces three times near Mali Shcherbaky and Kamianske.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the Ukrainian Defense forces are making efforts to prevent Russian troops from advancing deep into Ukrainian territory and successfully repelled two Russian offensives towards Sadove.

In the Siversk direction, the invading Russian army did not conduct any active operations in the Siversk direction yesterday.

On the border with Belarus, no signs of Russian offensive groups were detected.

In the Kursk region the Ukrainian Defense Forces are continuing their operation. Over the past day, Russian troops carried out 34 air strikes, dropping 43 guided bombs, and fired 375 times, 17 of them from multiple rocket launchers. Ukrainian defenders repelled 11 Russian assault attacks.

  • Over the past day on the Russian-Ukrainian front, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated 1,050 Russian soldiers, as well as dozens of units of their weapons and equipment.
