90 clashes at front on Feb. 5: Ukrainian forces halt 24 Russian attacks in Pokrovsk sector

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported the information as of 8:00 a.m. on February 6.

On February 5, the Russian aggressor launched two missile attacks on the Ukrainian positions and settlements using three missiles, as well as 85 air strikes, including 134 guided bombs. In addition, it conducted over 5,800 attacks, including 107 with multiple launch rocket systems, and used 2,293 'kamikaze' drones to attack.

18 settlements were hit by Russian air strikes.

Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit 19 areas of Russian troops and equipment concentration, one command and control center, an artillery unit, and an electronic warfare station of the invaders.

Frontline update

In the Kharkiv direction, the Ukrainian troops repelled four Russian attacks in the areas of Vovchansk and Kozacha Lopan.

In the Kupyansk direction, eight Russian attacks took place yesterday. The Ukrainian Defense Forces rebuffed the Russian assault near Zahryzove, Petropavlivka, Pishchane and Nova Kruhliakivka.

In the Lyman direction, the Russian troops attacked 11 times. They tried to advance near Novoliubivka, Kopanky, Zelenyi Hai, Hrekivka, Novoiehorivka, Yampolivka, Kolodiazi and Torske.

In the Siversk direction, the Russian forces attacked the Ukrainian positions 9 times in the areas of Spirne, Siversk and Verkhnekamianske.

In the Kramatorsk direction, three firefights were registered in the areas of Chasivyi Yar and Stupochky.

In the Toretsk direction, the Russians carried out 9 attacks near Toretsk, Dyliivka and Shcherbynivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the Ukrainian defenders stopped 24 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor in the areas of Vodiane Druhe, Yelyzavetivka, Tarasivka, Udachne, Nadiivka, Promin, Pishchane, Dachne and Ulakly.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces fought off 3 attacks on the Ukrainian troops' positions near Kostiantynopil.

In the Huliaipole direction, the invaders made two attacks in the direction of Novopil.

In the Orikhiv and Prydniprovskyi directions, the occupying Russian army did not conduct any offensive actions.

In the Kursk region, the Ukrainian Defense Forces units rebuffed 9 attacks by Russian invaders over the past day. 

In addition, the Russian forces launched 54 air strikes using 78 guided bombs, and fired 415 artillery shells at Ukrainian troops' positions and localities, including 14 from multiple launch rocket systems.

On the border with Belarus, no signs of Russian assault group formation were detected.

• Over the last day, the invading Russian army lost 1,240 servicemen at the front. Ukraine's Defense Forces also destroyed 46 Russian artillery systems and 16 armored combat vehicles.
