Ukraine reports 84 battles along frontline as Russia intensifies attacks in Toretsk sector

On Monday, March 10, a total of 84 battles took place along the frontline between Ukrainian and Russian forces, with the heaviest fighting occurring in the Toretsk direction

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

"Since the beginning of the day, 84 combat engagements have taken place on the frontline. Our defenders are holding their positions, stopping the Russians, and disrupting Russian plans," the statement reads.  

Russian artillery shelling has also targeted border areas of Ukrainian settlements, including Popivka, Khodyne, Dmytrivka, and Ulanove in Sumy region; Karpovychi in Chernihiv region; and Vidrodzhenivske in Kharkiv region.

In the Siverskyi sector, Russian army has launched nine attacks today, eight of which Ukrainian forces have successfully repelled. Russian units continue their attempts to advance near Bilohorivka and Verkhnokamyanske.  

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders are currently repelling a Russian assault toward Bila Hora.  

In the Toretsk direction, Russian forces have attempted 16 advances near Dachne, Kurdiumivka, Krymske, Druzhba, Toretsk, and Shcherbynivka. Seven battles are still ongoing.  

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russia initiated 14 engagements of varying intensity. Ukrainian defenders repelled all attacks near Valentynivka, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Kotliarivka, Oleksiivka, and Andriivka. Russian aviation carried out airstrikes with guided bombs (KABs) on Leontovychi and Zvirivka.  

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian forces fought off 14 Russian attacks near Kostyantynopil, Rozlyv, Skudne, Burlatske, and toward Vesele. Five battles are still ongoing.  

In the Hulyaipole direction, three combat engagements near Novosilka and Pryvilne have ended, while three more Russian attacks continue. Meanwhile, Russians airstrikes with guided bombs and unguided rockets targeted Voskresenka, Shevchenko, Novodarivka, Hulyaipole, and Zaliznychne.  

In the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces attempted five assaults near Novodanylivka, Piatykhatky, and toward Stepove, with three battles still ongoing. Mala Tokmachka was hit by unguided aerial rockets (NAR).

In the Dniprovskyi sector, Russia made one unsuccessful attempt to attack Ukrainian defense positions. The town of Lvove was damaged by an airstrike using unguided rockets (NAR).

In the Kursk region, Ukrainian forces repelled two Russians attacks. Additionally, Russian forces carried out 14 airstrikes, dropping 24 guided bombs (KAB), and launched 158 artillery bombardments, including ten from multiple rocket launch systems (MRLS).

There were no significant changes in the situation on the other fronts.

  • Military and political observer Kovalenko emphasizes that the situation in Kursk region is challenging but not catastrophic, and the misuse of the term "encirclement" is fueling Russian disinformation.
