83 clashes at front: Russian army is active in Pokrovsk, Kurakhove sectors - Ukraine's General Staff

Since the beginning of September 14, 83 combat clashes have taken place on the Russian-Ukrainian front. Russian forces are most active in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove sectors

This is stated in the General Staff's report as of 4:00 p.m.

Russian forces continue to use aircraft and artillery in the border areas of Sumy region. In particular, the areas of Nova Huta, Hrabovske, Vovkivka, Sopych, Ulanove, Novodmitrivka, and Bachivsk came under artillery fire.

In addition, Nova Huta, Obody, Iskryskivka, Pavlivka, Bilopillya, and Kindrativka were hit by air strikes.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv sector, Russia stormed the positions of Ukrainian troops three times near Vovchansk.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russian enemy attacked four times in the direction of Lozova and Synkivka. One attack was repelled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, three firefights are ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, Russian enemy attacked in the areas of Druzheliubivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Novosadove, Zarichne, and Terny. In total, there have been 11 combat engagements in this sector since the beginning of the day, five are still ongoing. 

In the Siversk sector, Russian enemy continues to try to break through the defences of our troops, but is repulsed by Ukrainian troops. For instance, near Verkhniokamianske and Vyimka, Russia tried to push Ukrainian troops back twice, and one combat engagement is still ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian invaders made one attack near Andriivka.

The number of hostile attacks in the Toretsk sector increased to six. Russian enemy, with the support of aviation, is attacking near Toretsk, where Ukrainian defenders repelled two attacks, Druzhba and Nelipivka, where four attacks have already been repelled and two more engagements are ongoing. Konstantynivka, Kleban-Byk and Katerynivka were attacked with anti-aircraft guns, and Druzhba was hit with unguided aerial missiles.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian aggressor carried out 23 attacks in the areas of Sukha Balka, Vozdvyzhenka, Zelene Pole, Novooleksandrivka, Novotoretsk, Hrodivka, Krasniy Yar, Novohrodivka and Marynivka. Ukrainian defence forces are holding back the attack and repelled 23 enemy attacks, with six battles still ongoing.

In the Kurakhove sector, Russian enemy attacked Ukrainian units 27 times since the beginning of the day. He tried to advance near Selidove, Ukrainske, Krasnohorivka, Dolynivka, Zhelenyi Druhyi, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, and Katerynivka. Three firefights are currently taking place near Heorhiivka and Kostiantynivka.

In the Vremivka sector, Ukrainian troops repelled two attacks towards Vodiane and Zolota Nyva, and the enemy's attempts to advance failed.

In the Orikhiv sector, the towns of Piatykhatky and Lobkove were attacked by unguided aerial missiles.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, two attacks by Russian invaders were unsuccessful.

  • Over the past day, September 13, on the Russian-Ukrainian front, Russian forces lost dozens of pieces of equipment and 1,210 troops.
