This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on July 9.

The number of combat engagements along the entire frontline is currently 81. The Russian invaders are focusing their main efforts on the Pokrovsk direction, where more than 35 per cent of all clashes took place. Ukrainian defenders are holding back the onslaught of the occupation forces and inflicting significant losses on the enemy.

In the border areas of Sumy and Chernihiv regions, Russian enemy continues to carry out its terrorist attacks, shelling the border communities from the territory of the Russian Federation.

From the direction of Belgorod region, Russian aviation struck with guided aerial bombs at the territory of Kharkiv region, among the bombed areas were Lyptsi, Mali Prokhody and Hlyboke. At the same time, Ukrainian troops have repelled four attacks by Russian occupiers in the areas of Vovchansk, Starytsia and Lyptsi, and two more attacks are ongoing.

In the Kupyansk sector, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to storm the positions of Ukrainian troops near Berestove and Pishchane four times.

Russian troops became somewhat more active in the Lyman sector today. Russia made 12 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Hrekivka, Nevske, Makiivka and Terny. All combat engagements ended without success for the enemy.

The enemy continues to look for weaknesses in Ukrainian defenses in the Siverskyi sector. Russia conducted three attacks near Verkhniokamianske, Vyymka and Rozdolivka and received a fierce rebuff. The Russian losses are being clarified.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the invading Russian forces made three unsuccessful assaults near Chasiv Yar, Hryhorivka and Andriivka. The enemy supported its offensive with attack aircraft, launching unguided missiles near Chasiv Yar.

The number of Russian attacks in the Toretsk sector increased to 9. Russian army is attacking near populated areas: Pivnichne, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 5 attacks (one attack is currently ongoing), Pivdenne and New York, where two attacks were repelled. Fighting is still ongoing in two locations. The aggressor's aviation is actively working, in particular, the settlement of New York was bombed, where the enemy dropped eight guided aerial bombs, and the occupiers also fired at the area with unguided aerial missiles.

The Pokrovsk sector witnessed the largest number of combat engagements. Since the beginning of the day, Russia has made 29 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Tymofiivka, Karlivka, Kalynove, Yevhenivka, Yasnobrodivka, Progress and Novoselivka Persha. The Defense Forces of Ukraine are holding back the onslaught and repelled 21 enemy attacks, with eight battles still ongoing. The enemy is concentrating its efforts near Novooleksandrivka and Novoselivka Persha. The latter, along with Oleksandropil, were hit by unguided missiles from attack aircraft. Russian terrorists struck the area around Myrnohrad with multiple rocket launchers.

Four battles near Neitalove, Kostyantynivka and Paraskoviivka in the Kurakhove sector ended.

In the Vremivka sector, a firefight continues near Vodiane. Five enemy attacks have already been repelled by Ukrainian troops. The Defense Forces of Ukraine are taking measures to prevent the occupation army from advancing deeper into Ukraine's territory. Russian terrorists used five guided aerial bombs in the area. They also fired unguided missiles. In particular, near Urozhayne, Rivne and Staromayorske.

In the Orikhiv sector, three enemy attacks were repelled near Mala Tokmachka and Novoandriivka.

In the Prydniprovsky sector, Russia dropped seven glide bombs in and around Tyahynka.
