75 clashes recorded on Russian-Ukrainian front, most attacks in Pokrovsk direction

Ukrainian forces continue to repel Russian attacks in various directions, with the most intense fighting occurring in the Pokrovsk sector

This was reported by the General Staff in its daily update.

Border settlements, including Stepok, Myropilske, Naumivka, Semenivka, Uhroidy, Prokhody in Sumy region, and Mykhalchyna Sloboda in Chernihiv region, suffered from shelling from Russian territory. Airstrikes targeted Myropillia and Prokhody in Sumy region.

Situation in the main front directions

Ukrainian forces stopped an attack in the area of Kamyanka in the Kharkiv direction.

In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian enemy launched two assaults in the direction of Petropavlivka and Nova Kruhlyakivka.

In the Lyman direction, the Russian invading army attacked 10 times near the settlements of Lypove, Nove, Novomykhailivka, Myrne, and Yampolivka. Five combat engagements are still ongoing.

In the Siversk direction, the Defense Forces repelled an attack near Verkhnokamianske.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped six attempts by the  Russian occupiers to advance in the directions of Maiske, Predtechyne, Bila Hora, and near Chasiv Yar. Two more combat engagements are still ongoing.

In the Toretsk direction, the  Russian enemy launched one attack near Dachne.

In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the Russian forces made 38 attempts to push our defenders from their positions in the areas of Stara Mykolaivka, Tarasivka, Shevchenko, Yelyzavetivka, Novotoretske, Lysivka, Uspenivka, Kotlyarivka, Troitske, Nadiivka, and Andriivka. The Defense Forces are holding off the enemy’s pressure and have stopped 22 attacks; 12 combat engagements are still ongoing.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the Russian army attacked six times near Kostyantynopil, Burlatske, and in the direction of Odradne. One combat engagement is still ongoing.

In the Hulyaipole direction, the Russian forces carried out airstrikes on Hulyaipole.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the Russian troops conducted one unsuccessful attack.

In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders repelled six Russian attacks; one combat engagement is still ongoing. Since the beginning of the day, the Russian army has carried out four airstrikes, dropping 15 guided aviation bombs on Ukrainian forces' positions and settlements, and carried out 142 artillery shellings, including two from multiple rocket launch systems.

In other areas of the front, the situation has not undergone significant changes.

  • On April 28, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that the use of unmanned systems by Ukraine, including ground-based robotic complexes for remote mining, is causing critical losses for Russia in logistics.
