65 combat clashes take place along the frontline, Russian troops most active in Pokrovsk, Kurakhove sectors

On September 22, 65 combat clashes took place along the frontline. The occupying Russian army is active in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions. Ukrainian defenders are holding their line and foiling the Russian troops’ plans

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this in its summary as of 4 p.m.

During the day, a range of settlements in Sumy and Chernihiv regions suffered from Russia's terrorist attacks.

“The enemy shelled Brusky, Malushyne, Pavlivka, Zhuravka, Velyka Pysarivka with artillery; Esman, Bilovody, Zhuravka, Buvalyne and Yastrubshchyna were hit by air strikes. Also, according to available information, the enemy carried out ten air strikes on the territory of Kursk region, using 12 guided aerial bombs,” the General Staff noted.

Situation on the main directions of the Russian-Ukrainian front

In the Kharkiv sector, two Russian attacks took place near Vovchansk. The battle is ongoing. The situation is under control.

In the Kupyansk sector, the enemy tried to advance towards Ukrainian positions in the areas of Petropavlivka, Synkivka, Hlushkivka, Kruhlyakivka, Lozova and Stelmakhivka throughout the day. Five enemy attacks are still ongoing. A total of ten firefights were registered in the sector. The occupants dropped a total of nine bombs in the areas of Kupyansk, Kupyansk-Vuzlove and Pershotravneve.

The aggressor increased the number of attacks to five in the Lyman sector. Fighting took place near Cherneshchyna, Druzhelyubivka, Novosadove and Dibrova. Two firefights are ongoing.

In the Siversky sector, the Russian army tried to break through Ukrainian defenses in the area of Vyymka. The situation is under control. The occupants also launched air strikes with guided aerial bombs in the areas of Ivanivka, Svyato-Pokrovske and Sloviansk.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian defenders continue to repel two Russian attacks near Kalynivka and Klishchiyivka. Five enemy attacks have already been stopped near Hryhorivka and Stupochky. The enemy used unguided aerial missiles at Stupochky.

In the Toretsk sector, Russian troops attacked four times in the areas of Dachne, Toretsk, Shcherbynivka and Nelipivka with the support of attack and bomber aircraft. A battle is underway near Toretsk.

The Russian army is currently most active in the Pokrovsk sector. Clashes of varying intensity started there 21 times today. Fighting is currently underway in six locations near Novotoretsk, Hrodivka, Novohrodivka and Marynivka. Occupants' aviation was firing unguided aerial missiles towards Oleksandropol during the day.

The situation remains difficult in the Kurakhove sector. Six assaults were repelled near Hirnyk, Tsukuryne, Zhelanne Druhe and Katerynivka, and four firefights are ongoing near Kostiantynivka and Hirnyk.

In the Vremivka sector, the aggressor is attacking near Vuhledar and Vodiane, with four firefights currently underway. Enemy aircraft also struck near Bohoyavlenka, Urozhayne and Rivnopil.

No active actions of the Russian troops were registered in the Huliaipole and Orikhiv sectors today. The enemy is launching air strikes and shelling Ukrainian troops' positions and localities.

Ukrainian defenders repelled one enemy attack in the Prydniprovskyi sector.

Ukrainian troops are depleting the enemy along the entire frontline and in the rear, the General Staff added.

  • Over the past day, the occupation army lost 1,500 of its troops on the Russian-Ukrainian front. The Defense Forces also eliminated many Russian military vehicles.
