Ukraine's General Staff reports intense Russian attacks in Pokrovsk, Kurakhove sectors

According to the General Staff, 109 combat clashes took place on the frontline over the past day. According to the updated information, yesterday Russia launched a total of three missile attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas using 4 missiles, 66 air strikes (including 94 drones), fired over 3,800 times, 100 of them from multiple launch rocket systems.

Since the beginning of the day on June 14, Russia has been attacking in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove sectors the most. Over 60% of the total number of combat engagements along the entire frontline took place there. 

Frontline situation

As of 10:00 a.m., the Russian attack in the Kharkiv sector continued near Vovchansk. The General Staff assured that the situation there is under control. Over the past day, Russian troops lost 72 men in this area, 30 of them irretrievably. Ukrainian soldiers destroyed 3 armored combat vehicles, 2 artillery systems, 9 vehicles, and 5 units of special equipment. In addition, three Russian artillery systems and five vehicles were damaged, 26 dugouts and two ammunition depots were destroyed.

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian troops are repelling attacks by Russian invaders in the areas of Petropavlivka and Pishchane. The situation is under control.

In the Lyman direction, Ukraine's forces repelled three Russian attempts to improve their tactical position. They rebuffed an assault near Nevske, and two firefights are ongoing in the areas of Nevske and Hrekivka.

In the Siversk direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully stopped the invaders' attempt to advance in the vicinity of Rozdolivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders are taking measures to prevent Russian troops from advancing deeper into Ukrainian territory. The Russian enemy keeps trying to break through the Ukrainian defense in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Sokol, Novoselivka Persha and Novopokrovske. Seven combat clashes are ongoing, five attacks have already been repelled. The General Staff added that the situation is under control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. 

According to the updated information, Russia lost 363 people in killed and wounded in the Pokrovsk sector yesterday, and destroyed a Russian tank, two armored combat vehicles, a cannon and a car. A tank, an armored personnel carrier and a vehicle were damaged.

The situation in the Kurakhove direction is tense. The occupation army launched 11 assault attacks. Two attacks were successfully repelled near Paraskoviivka, 9 firefights are ongoing in the areas of Krasnohorivka and Paraskoviivka.

In the Vremivka direction, the invading troops have intensified their attacks near Urozhaine, and a battle is underway. An attempt by Russians to storm the positions of the Defense Forces near Vodiane failed.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russ's forces made five attacks in the area of Mala Tokmachka. Ukrainian troops repelled all attacks.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped the Russian assault on the left bank of the Dnipro River.

In other areas, the situation did not change significantly.

  • Over the past day, the Russian army lost 1,250 soldiers in the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian forces also destroyed 48 artillery systems and 8 tanks.
  • On the night of June 14, the Russian occupation army launched 31 air targets at the territory of Ukraine. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 7 missiles and 17 drones.
