210 clashes occur at front on Dec. 12: Ukrainian forces repel 51 Russian attacks in Kurakhove sector

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this as of 8:00 a.m.

"According to the updated information, yesterday Russia launched 35 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas, in particular, dropped 69 guided bombs. In addition, Russian forces fired over 4,170 times, including 103 times from multiple launch rocket systems," the statement says.

The General Staff added that yesterday the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck seven areas of Russian manpower and weapons concentration areas.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv sector, Russia launched eight attacks on Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk, Hlyboke, and Starytsia.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russian forces attacked eight times. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled assaults near Synkivka, Zahryzove, Dvorichna, and Lozova.

In the Lyman sector, Russians attacked 22 times, attempting to advance near Kopanky, Novoyehorivka, Lozova, Nadiia, Makiivka, Terny, and the Serebrianskyi forest.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled seven Russian attempts to advance near Chasiv Yar, Hryhorivka, and towards Stupochky and Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk sector, Russian troops launched four attacks near Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian forces stopped 47 Russian attacks near Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachenske, Novyi Trud, Pishchane, Shevchenko, and Chumatske.

In the Kurakhove sector, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 51 attacks. Russia concentrated its main efforts near Sontsivka, Stari Terny, Kurakhove, Dalne, and Uspenivka.

In the Vremivka sector, Russian forces launched 31 assaults on Ukrainian positions near Sukhi Yaly, Kostyantynopilske, Rozdolne, Neskuchne, and Novodarivka, actively using bomber aviation.

In the Orikhiv sector, the Russian army unsuccessfully launched two attacks on Ukrainian positions near Novodanylivka.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions five times. They were fiercely repulsed and suffered losses. 

In the Kursk region, Ukrainian forces repelled 21 Russian attacks.

"The Russian army also continues to bomb its own territories; according to available information, Russians conducted 12 airstrikes using 18 guided bombs over the past day," the General Staff added.

On the border with Belarus, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.

On the border with the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the Russian army is actively using artillery and aviation from the territory of the Russian Federation in the vicinity of Ukrainian settlements.

• On December 12, the invading Russian army lost 1,390 troops in the war in Ukraine. The Defense Forces destroyed Russian equipment, including 5 tanks and 31 armored vehicles.
