207 clashes at front, over half in Pokrovsk, Kurakhove sectors - Ukraine's General Staff

Over the past day, 207 combat clashes took place at the Russian-Ukrainian front, with the largest number of attacks recorded in the Kurakhove and Pokrovsk sectors

The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff reported the information as of 8:00 on September 4.

According to the updated information, yesterday Russia launched two missile attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas using three missiles, as well as 86 air strikes, including 123 KAB bombs. In addition, it carried out 4,205 attacks, including 97 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 1,406 kamikaze drones.

The Russian army carried out air strikes, targeting 27 settlements across Ukraine.

Over the past day, Ukraine's missile troops and artillery conducted 16 attacks on the Russian manpower concentrations and one pontoon crossing.

Frontline update 

In the Kharkiv sector, the Russian army conducted four offensive and assault operations near Vovchansk.

The number of combat clashes in the Kupyansk sector reached nine over the last day. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russian attacks near Berestove, Stelmakhivka, Synkivka, Hlushkivka, and in the direction of Lozova.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops stopped 32 attacks. Russian troops concentrated their main efforts near Nevske, Makiivka, Novosadove, Hrekivka, and Druzheliubivka.

In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled five attacks near Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, and Ivanodarivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian troops stopped eight attempts by Russian forces to advance near Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka. The situation is under control. Russia acted with the support of aviation, dropping guided bombs in near Stupochky, Hryhorivka, and Bila Hora.

Supported by seven strikes by bomber aircraft, Russia tried to advance seven times in the Toretsk area. In total, 15 combat clashes took place in the Toretsk sector. Russian forces also attacked nearNew York, Nelipivka, Kurdiumivka, and Shcherbynivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 61 attacks. Russia is attempting to advance near Zelene Pole, Vozdvyzhenka, Myroliubivka, Novotroitske, and Selidove. The main focus of their efforts is on Novohrodivka, Hrodivka, and Mykhailivka. Russia launched unguided aerial missiles at Oleksandropil twice and targeted Selidove and Myrnohrad with guided bombs.

In the Kurakhove sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back Russian troops near Halytsynivka, Ukrainsk, Zhelanne, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, and Kostiantynivka. In total, they tried to break through Ukrainian defense lines 50 times. They used armored vehicles and suffered significant losses.

In the Vremivka sector, Russia made 10 attempts to seize Ukrainian positions near Vodiane, Kostiantynivka, and Vuhledar.

In the Orikhiv sector, Russian units tried to advance six times near Novoandriivka, Robotyne, and Mala Tokmachka.

Russian forces became more active in the Kherson sector, where Ukrainian defenders had to repel five attacks on their positions. In addition, they used aircraft to attack Mykolaivka, Tomaryne, Beryslav, Tyahyntsi, and Vyrivka.

On the border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed significantly. No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected.

On the border with the Chernihiv region, Russia maintains a military presence, conducts reconnaissance activities and artillery shelling.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct operations in the Kursk sector.

  • Over the past day, the Russian army lost 1,390 soldiers in the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian forces destroyed 7 tanks and 43 unmanned aerial vehicles.
