187 clashes at front: Ukrainian troops repel 55 Russian attacks in Pokrovsk sector - Ukraine's General Staff

This is stated in the Ukrainian General Staff's report as of 8:00 a.m. on October 25.

“The situation at the front remains difficult. The enemy, using its superiority in manpower and equipment, is continuously attacking our positions. Ukrainian defenders are steadfastly holding back the onslaught of the occupiers and inflicting losses on the enemy,” the statement says.

In total, 187 combat clashes were recorded over the past day.  

According to the updated information, yesterday Russia launched one missile attack on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements using two missiles, as well as 85 air strikes, including 153 guided bombs. In addition, it carried out more than four thousand attacks, 130 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems and involved about 1,500 'kamikaze' drones.  

The Russian aggressor carried out air strikes, in particular, in the areas of 4 settlements in Sumy region; 3 in Kharkiv region; 8 in Donetsk region; 3 in Zaporizhzhia region; 1 in Kherson region.  

Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit one UAV control center, an ammunition depot, four areas of Russian personnel concentration, an air defense facility, four artillery systems and another important Russia's object.  

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv direction, Russia attacked eight times near the settlements of Vovchansk and Starytsia.

In the Kupyansk direction, 14 attacks took place over the last day. The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russia's assault near 7 populated areas.  

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops attacked 23 times. They tried to break into Ukraine's defense near 8 settlements.  

In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian defenders repulsed one attack by Russian invaders near Vyimka.  

In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupation forces attacked twice in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Predtechyno.  

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped 55 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor near 8 localities. The main efforts of the Russian attacks were concentrated in the area of Selydove and Promin.  

In the Kurakhove direction, the Defense Forces repelled 20 attacks. The occupation army was most actively trying to advance near 10 settlements.

In the Vremivka direction, Russian troops made eight attacks on Ukrainian positions in the areas of Bohoyavlenka and Novoukrainka. They actively used bomber aircraft to carry out attacks in the area.

In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian army, with the support of aviation, attacked Ukrainian positions four times near Novodanylivka and Novoandriivka yesterday.

The invading troops tried three times to force the units of the Defense Forces out of their positions in the Prydniprovskyi sector without success.

The operation in the Kursk region continues. Over the past day, Russian aircraft carried out 23 air strikes, and artillery fired over a hundred times.

No signs of Russian offensive groups formation were detected on the border with Belarus.

On the border with the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, Russia is actively using artillery and aviation from its territory in the vicinity of Ukrainian settlements.

• Over the past day, the invading Russian army lost 1,630 soldiers in the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed 7 Russian tanks and 34 artillery systems.
