182 clashes occur at front, situation remains difficult - Ukraine's General Staff

Over the last day, September 1, 182 combat clashes took place at the front. Russian forces concentrated their efforts on the Pokrovsk sector, particularly near Novohrodivka

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this as of 8:00 on September 2.

The frontline situation remains difficult. Russia, using its superiority in manpower and equipment, is continuously attacking Ukrainian positions. Ukrainian defenders are steadfastly holding back the onslaught, inflicting significant losses on the Russian army.

According to the updated information, yesterday the Russian army launched four missile attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas using 19 missiles, as well as 71 air strikes, including 91 KAB bombs. In addition, Russian troops fired over 4,500 times at the Ukrainian settlements and positions, 141 of them from multiple launch rocket systems.

Russia carried out air strikes, targeting 14 settlements across Ukraine.

Yesterday, Ukraine's aviation, missile forces and artillery conducted 15 strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel and weapons and two air defense systems.

Frontline situation 

In the Kharkiv sector, the Russian army continued offensive (assault) actions, with a total of seven combat clashes. The fighting took place near Vovchansk and Lyptsi.

In the Kupyansk sector, 16 Russian attacks took place over the last day. Ukraine's Defense Forces repelled assaults near Synkivka and Hlushkivka.

In the Lyman sector, Russian forces attacked 18 times. They tried to advance near Makiivka, Hrekivka, Novosadove, Nevske, and Torske.

In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled nine assault attacks by Russian troops near Verkhniokamianske and Rozdolivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the invading Russian forces attacked eight times near Andriivka, Klishchiivka, and Markove. The situation is under control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

In the Toretsk sector, Russia, supported by aviation, carried out 20 attacks near Toretsk and Nelipivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled 63 assaults near the settlements of Vozdvyzhenka, Zelene Pole, Kalynove, Hrodivka, Novohrodivka, Karlivka, Marynivka, and Mykhailivka. The most intense Russian attacks were concentrated around Novohrodivka. The Russian army actively deployed aviation.

In the Kurakhove sector, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 25 attack near Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka, and Heorhiivka.

In the Vremivka sector, according to the updated information, the Russian army attacked Ukrainian positions 14 times near Vodiane, Kostiantynivka, and Makarivka.

No Russian attacks were registered in the Huliaipole and Orikhiv sectors over the last day.

In the Kherson sector, two Russian attempts to seize Ukrainian positions were unsuccessful. 

Near the border with Belarus, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.

On the border with the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the Russian army is actively using artillery and aviation in the vicinity of Ukrainian settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation.

Ukrainian defense forces carry out operations in the Kursk region.

  • Over the past day, Russian forces lost dozens of pieces of equipment and 1,300 soldiers at the front.
