125 clashes occur at front today, with toughest fighting in Pokrovsk sector

As of Friday, October 25, the total number of combat engagements on the frontline has risen to 125, with the toughest fighting occurring in the Pokrovsk sector

Ukraine’s General Staff reported the information.

"Russian forces continue to use aviation, and guided aerial bombs, and are carrying out attacks in all directions in the east and south of our country. They are particularly active in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove sectors. Ukrainian forces are holding their ground and taking necessary steps to prevent any breakthroughs," the General Staff stated.

Russia is also shelling the Chernihiv and Sumy regions with artillery and aircraft. The following areas were hit: Novovasylivka, Stara Huta, Basivka, Liskivshchyna, Pokrovka, Ulanove, Boiaro-Lezhachi, and Bobylivka. 

Additionally, Russia conducted 18 air strikes in the Kursk region, using 24 guided aerial bombs.

Frontline situation

On October 25, two combat engagements occurred in the Kharkiv sector, where Ukrainian troops are defending against Russian attacks near Vovchansk. 

In the Kupyansk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled two assaults near Holubivka, and fighting is ongoing around Vyshneve.

In the Lyman sector, Russia is attacking areas like Hrekivka, Terny, and Torske, with a total of 19 engagements since the start of the day, four of which are still active.

In the Siversk sector, the Russian army attempted to advance near Ivano-Darivka and Vyimka, leading to three combat engagements so far. Fighting is also ongoing in Chasiv Yar in the Kramatorsk sector, where Russian troops are trying to push closer to Ukrainian positions. Novoiehorivka was hit by an airstrike.

In the Toretsk sector, Russian troops, supported by attack and bomber aircraft, are assaulting Ukrainian troops in Toretsk. They also attacked Druzhba, Troitske, and Katerynivka, dropping five guided aerial bombs.

The situation is most intense in the Pokrovsk sector, with fierce fighting in Selydove, Krasnyi Yar, Krutyi Yar, Lysivka, and Myroliubivka. The Russian army has made 35 attempts to storm Ukrainian positions so far.

In the Kurakhove sector, five firefights are ongoing in Hostre, Katerynivka, and Novodmytrivka, with Ukrainian defenders repelling 20 Russian attacks.

In the Vremivka sector, Ukrainian forces have turned back 10 Russian assaults near Bohoiavlenka and Novoukrainka, with seven more attacks still ongoing.

In the Orikhiv sector, Russians are actively using aircraft around Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, and Mala Tokmachka, having dropped 13 guided aerial bombs today.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russiaт forces tried to push Ukrainian defenders out of their positions once but were met with strong resistance.

  • Over the past day, the invading Russian army lost 1,630 soldiers in the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed 7 Russian tanks and 34 artillery systems.
