General Staff reports 120 firefights at front over past day, 29 more since midnight
On Sunday, May 26, Ukrainian Air Force, missile forces, and artillery struck 17 Russian concentration areas, a control post, and another key target

Yesterday saw 120 combat clashes on the frontline. The Russians launched 4 missile strikes with 17 missiles, 61 airstrikes using 98 guided bombs, and over 3,400 attacks from various weapons, including 102 MLRS strikes, targeting Ukrainian positions and populated areas.
The enemy also deployed over a thousand 'kamikaze' drones and other attack UAVs.
Since the beginning of May 27, until 11:00 a.m., there have been 29 combat clashes. Russia conducted 706 attacks on the Defense Forces' positions and populated areas. This included 24 attacks with anti-aircraft missiles, 3 airstrikes using 7 guided bombs, and 51 'kamikaze' drone attacks.
In the Kharkiv direction, on May 27, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled an attack by the aggressors towards Lyptsi.
"Ukrainian units are actively working to improve defense lines, achieving success in some areas. Yesterday, the enemy suffered losses of 191 occupiers in this direction, including 63 fatalities. Additionally, our soldiers destroyed 2 tanks, 2 artillery systems, 9 UAVs, and damaged 11 vehicles and 7 units of special equipment, as well as 24 enemy dugouts," reported the General Staff.
As of 1:00 p.m., the Russian enemy, supported by aviation, launched 5 attacks in the Kharkiv direction. Slobozhanske and Vovchansk were struck by airstrikes from the invaders. However, the situation remains under the control of Ukrainian troops.
In the Kupyansk direction, the invading troops attempted to improve their tactical position four times since the beginning of May 27.
"The situation remains tense in the Petropavlivka area. Attacks have been repelled in the areas of Stepove, Novoselivka, and Nevske settlements. A battle is ongoing in the Hrekivka area, but the situation is under control," the message conveyed.
On May 26, in the Kupyansk direction, updated data showed that the enemy's total losses amounted to 114 soldiers, including 42 fatalities. Ukrainian forces destroyed one enemy anti-aircraft installation, one MT-LB, and two ammunition warehouses, and also damaged one artillery system.
In the Siversk direction, the Defense Forces repelled five assaults by the invaders.
"Three attacks have been stopped. Fighting continues in the areas of Spirne and Vyimka. The situation is tense," said the General Staff.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers unsuccessfully attempted to attack in the area of Klishchiivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the Ukrainian military deters the invaders' attempts to advance. Fighting continues near the settlements of Sokil, Umanske, and Nevelske, and an attack in the Novooleksandrivka area is repulsed.
"Over the past day, the enemy lost 263 people killed and wounded in this direction. The occupiers' tank, six armored fighting vehicles, two cars, and two mortars were destroyed. Additionally, one tank, an armored personnel carrier, and three cars were damaged," reported the General Staff.
As of 1:00 p.m. in the Pokrovsk direction, the number of enemy attacks since the beginning of the day has increased to eight. Fighting is taking place in the Novooleksandrivka, Kalynove, Sokil, Umanske, Novoselivka Persha, and Netailove areas, and the situation remains tense.
In the Kurakhove direction, there are ongoing combat clashes in the districts of Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka, Paraskoviivka, and Kostyantynivka.
"The situation is dynamic and remains under the control of the Defense Forces," stated the General Staff.
On May 27, in the Vremivka direction, Ukrainian military forces are engaged in a defensive battle near Staromayorske, with the situation under control.
By 1:00 p.m., in the Vremivka direction, Russian occupiers attempted another assault near the village of Staromayorske — the second attempt of the day. They sustained fire damage and retreated.
No enemy assaults were reported in the Orikhiv direction, but the aggressor targeted Ukrainian troop positions to dislodge personnel from the front line of defense.
In the Kherson direction, on the bridgeheads on the left bank of the Dnipro River, the Defense Forces repelled two enemy attacks in the area of the village of Krynky, maintaining position integrity.
The situation has not significantly changed in other directions.
