119 combat engagements take place along frontline on Dec. 4: Ukrainian troops repel 25 attacks in Pokrovsk sector

‘The situation at the front remains complicated and tense. The Russian army, despite the significant losses inflicted by Ukrainian defenders, continues to try to break through the defenses of Ukrainian troops. A total of 119 combat engagements have taken place since the beginning of the day,’ the statement said.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv sector, Russian forces attacked five times in the area of Vovchansk and Hlyboke, Ukrainian defenders repelled four Russian attacks, and another battle is ongoing.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russian enemy actively attacked the positions of Ukrainian troops 12 times in the areas of Kucherivka, Sinkivka, Petropavlivka, Pershotravneve, Zelenyi Hai and Lozova. Ukrainian troops are holding steadfastly, with ten firefights still ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, the invading Russian army launched nine attacks on Ukrainian positions near Hrekivka, Druzhelyubivka, Makiivka, Terny and Zarichne. Six battles are ongoing.

In the Toretsk sector, Russia tried to force Ukrainian units out of their positions near Toretsk, where the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled four attacks.

Since the beginning of the day in the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy has made 29 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the areas of Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachenske, Zhovte, Shevchenko, Pushkine and Novopustyanka. The defense forces are holding back the attack and have repelled 25 enemy attacks so far. The Russian army's losses are being clarified. The enemy launched an air strike on Myrnohrad.

In the Kurakhove sector, fighting continues near Sontsivka, Berestky, Zorya, Novodmitrivka, Kurakhove, Dalne, Dachne, Romanivka, Yelizavetivka and Uspenivka. According to the updated information, 18 attacks by the occupation army were repelled as of today, 12 attacks are ongoing.

In the Vremivka sector, four attacks by the Russian invaders continue, and the enemy has made 10 attempts to advance near Zelene Pole, Novodarivka, Kostiantynopolske and Sukhi Yaly.

In the Prydniprovsky sector, the Russian troops tried three times to drive Ukrainian troops from their positions, to no avail.

In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders repelled twelve Russian attacks, and eight engagements are ongoing.

At the Siversky, Kramatorsk, Huliapole, Orikhiv and Prydniprovsky sectors, the Russian forces continue to fire at the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian infrastructure using available weapons.

• On the night of December 4, Russian troops launched 'kamikaze' drones and a missile to attack Ukraine. The defenders managed to destroy 29 Russian attack UAVs.
