111 combat clashes occur at front, nearly a third in Pokrovsk sector - Ukraine's General Staff

Since the start of August 28, Russian forces have conducted 111 attacks along the front, with their main focus on the Pokrovsk sector, where 34 combat engagements have been recorded

Ukraine's General Staff reported the information.

Russian forces have concentrated roughly a third of their total attacks on the Pokrovsk sector. They are also active in the Kupyansk and Kurakhove directions.

Border areas in the Sumy region continue to endure Russian air strikes, with guided aerial bombs targeting Pustohorod, Bilopillia, Horile, and Basivka. Meanwhile, civilian infrastructure in Russia has also been hit by shelling and air strikes from its own forces.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv sector, Russian forces launched two assaults on Ukrainian positions near Lyptsi and Vovchansk. The battle is ongoing, but the situation remains under control. Russia also used unguided aerial missiles to attack near Kozacha Lopan, Alisivka, and Kudiivka.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russia attacked our positions 17 times. Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled assaults near Synkivka, Kolisnykivka, Stelmakhivka, and Kruhliakivka.

In the Lyman sector, Russian forces attacked in the areas of Druzheliubivka, Novoiehorivka, Makiivka, Nevske, and Novosadove. Ukrainian troops have repelled eight attacks since the start of the day.

In the Siversk sector, the Russian army launched two attacks near Spirne but met fierce resistance.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian troops conducted nine assaults near Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Bila Hora, and Hryhorivka. Two of these attacks involved unguided aerial missiles near Hryhorivka.

In the Toretsk sector, there have been 13 Russian attacks today. The occupying army struck areas near Pivnichne, Druzhba, Toretsk, New York, and Nelipivka. Fighting continues in three locations near Nelipivka. Russia also used unguided aerial missiles to strike Druzhba.

The highest number of combat engagements occurred in the Pokrovsk sector, where Russia has made 34 attempts to dislodge Ukrainian defenders from their positions near eleven settlements. Nearly half of these clashes took place near Selydove and Novohrodivka. Ukrainian forces have successfully repelled 23 attacks in the sector, others are ongoing. Russia is suffering significant losses in manpower.

In the Kurakhove sector, Russia launched 22 attacks on Ukrainian units, attempting to advance near Ukrainka, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, and Karlivka. Nearly half of these clashes are ongoing, with intense fighting near Karlivka.

In the Vremivka sector, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions twice in the direction of Kostiantynivka and Vodiane. They also used aircraft five times to strike Vuhledar and Yehorivka with unguided aerial missiles.

In the Orikhiv sector, two guided aerial bombs targeted Stepove. Russia also launched two assaults near Robotyne and Novodanylivka.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russian forces did not carry out any offensive actions. However, they fired unguided aerial missiles toward Kozatske from a Su-25 attack aircraft.

  • Over the past day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces downed a Russian military aircraft and killed over 1,000 soldiers at the front.
