Russia tries to recapture strategic heights in Izyum direction - deputy commander of Karpatska Sich battalion
The deputy commander of the Karpatska Sich battalion Ihor Sabiy says that intense fighting in the Izyum direction is entering its 5th day.
He said this on Espreso.
"On August 23, Ukrainian defenders won back strategic heights in the Izyum direction, and the enemy is trying to repel them. The enemy is using tanks, artillery, and aviation. We are repelling enemy attacks, and we are also building fortifications at the positions," Sabiy stressed.
According to him, the principle in this war is as follows - the deeper we dig in, the more chances we have to defend our land.
"The enemy is trying to knock us out of our positions. The heights we recaptured do not give the enemy the opportunity to go on the offensive. Moreover, we have the opportunity to push them to Izyum. The rainy season is coming soon and the specifics of the soil in the region are such - as long as it is wet, the equipment can not pass. Before the rainy season, the enemy is trying to gain at least something and advance at least a little," Sabiy noted.
