Russia tries to attack in eastern front to distract Ukrainian reserves from offensive
The Russian army is trying to resume attacks in the eastern front to distract the reserves of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from offensive operations
Colonel Mykola Urshalovych, deputy department chief at the Main Directorate of the Ukrainian National Guard, shared the information during a briefing.
According to him, the Russian army is trying to resume attacks in the eastern direction to distract the reserves of the Ukrainian Defense Forces from the offensive. In particular, last week unsuccessful Russian attacks took place at the Kupyansk, Lyman and Siversk directions. The Russian army tried to storm the positions of the National Guard units, actively using rocket artillery and aviation.
In turn, the Guards destroyed Russian equipment and field ammunition depots, gradually depleting their ability to conduct active defense in the Bakhmut direction. Ukrainian defenders also continued carrying out offensive actions in the Melitopol direction. There, they were fortifying the lines they had reached, conducting reconnaissance and demining in the areas of further tasks.
