"Just a few days ago, I published a video that showed that there is no military base there. That ordinary university specialists work there: they accept applicants' documents, sign circular letters, and issue diplomas. And tonight, two Russian missiles flew there. These are real terrorists who hiding behind their propaganda continue to cynically destroy our educational institutions," wrote Senkevych.
At the time of the attack, there was only a security guard at the university. He was not hurt. However, houses opposite the facility were damaged by debris and the shock wave.
"We will give film and OSB-plates free of charge to everyone who needs them," says the mayor.
Currently, utility workers are clearing the area near the university in order to clear the passage for traffic.
Vitaly Kim also confirmed the strikes on Mykolaiv with S-300 missiles.
"Around 2:00, on August 17, the Russian occupiers once again fired at Mykolaiv with S-300 type missiles. It is known that civilian objects were hit, in particular the P. Mohyla University and one of the city's enterprises. Private houses were also damaged. Previously, there were no victims. Detailed information is being clarified," he noted.
Around 2:00 on August 17, explosions rang out in Mykolaiv.
Lines 101 and 112 were temporarily not working in the city.
Kim also said that yesterday, August 16, at approximately 9:30, as a result of Russian shelling, a public catering facility was destroyed in the Pervomaiske settlement of the Pervomaisk community. There are no casualties.
On August 16, at 17:45, Russian shelling was recorded in the village of Dmytrivka of the Kutsurub community. The hits were mainly in open territory. There are no casualties.
"Yesterday, August 16, approximately at 16:30 and 17:30 and on the night of August 17 at approximately 1:00, the village of Shiroke of the Shirokiv community was shelled. Farm buildings and the road were hit. There were no casualties," he wrote.
Shelling of the territory and nearby settlements of the Berezneguvat community continues. Information on victims and damage is being clarified.
Previously, the OC South reported that on the evening of August 16, the Mykolaiv port infrastructure came under fire.
"The port infrastructure of Mykolaiv was hit by rockets from the Smerch salvo fire system in the evening. There were no casualties," OC South reported.
