Russia strikes Kharkiv with S-300 missiles, one person injured
On the night of July 31, Russian troops have shelled Kharkiv with S-300 missiles, injuring a man near the explosion’s epicenter
The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, and the head of the Kharkiv garrison, Serhiy Melnyk, reported the information.
"The invaders are striking. Residents of Kharkiv and the region, stay in shelters!" wrote Syniehubov.
Meanwhile, Serhiy Melnyk noted that Russian troops probably attacked the Kharkiv region and the city of Kharkiv with S-300 air defense systems.
He also added that information on possible damage and casualties is being established.
According to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, Russian forces first hit non-residential buildings, causing a fire.
Later, Dmytro Chubenko, a spokesman for the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, clarified that Russian troops launched the attack from Russia’s Belgorod region.
"At midnight, Russian invaders launched S-300 missiles at our region from the Belgorod region. In the Novobavarskyi district of Kharkiv, a warehouse of a commercial enterprise was struck. A fire broke out on an area of 200 square meters. A man who was near the epicenter of the explosion was injured," Chubenko said.
The State Emergency Service clarified that the injured man was a security guard at the enterprise. He was hospitalized.
He added that in the Kharkiv region, another missile hit a private household in the village of Velykyi Burluk. There were no casualties.
