Russia reports drone attack on Dyagilevo airfield in Ryazan
On Saturday, July 27, at about 5 a.m., Russia complained of a drone attack on the Dyagilevo airfield in Ryazan. Russia's air defense allegedly repelled the attack
The Russian Telegram channel Mash reports this.
According to Mash, seven drones attacked the airfield. According to eyewitnesses, the hum of the engines could be heard around 5 a.m., and the military airfield was the target.
“The air defense system worked as usual - there were no casualties,” the report said.
Later, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the downing of seven drones, accusing Ukraine of the attack.
“An air defense systems destroyed seven Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over the territory of the Ryazan region,” the ministry added.
For reference: The Dyagilevo military airfield is home to:
- The 43rd Centre for Combat Employment and Retraining of Personnel: equipped with Tu-95MS, Tu-22M3, Tu-134UBL, and An-26 aircraft.
- 203rd Separate Air Regiment: equipped with IL-78 refueling aircraft.
The 360th Aircraft Repair Plant is located next to the air base.
