Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov made the claim.
According to him, 5 people were allegedly killed in Belgorod, including a child. In addition, 18 people were injured, 5 of whom were children.
"The city of Belgorod experienced various damages in seven private households, including broken windows, damaged roofs, and fences. In addition, five apartment buildings had shattered windows in several apartments, and approximately five cars sustained damage from shrapnel. One shop and the premises of an industrial enterprise were also damaged," Gladkov wrote.
Additionally, in the Belgorod district, specifically in the village of Shagarovka, alleged damages to private houses and a car were documented.
Russian media outlets reported that missile debris purportedly fell on a store and the premises of a school.
"Around 12:30 p.m., an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack on targets in the Russian Federation using the RM-70 Vampire MLRS was stopped," the statement said.
Russian air defense allegedly destroyed 14 "missiles" over the territory of the Belgorod region.
