The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces shared the news.

"On the night of June 25, Russian troops launched a massive missile strike on the territory of Ukraine. In total, more than fifty missiles of various types were fired: air, sea and ground. For the first time from Belarus, the enemy used Tu-22M3 long-range bombers against Ukraine. Also, resumed the use of Iskander operational and tactical systems from Belarus," the Ukrainian military said.

At the same time, Russian naval-based Caliber cruise missiles were mainly targeted western Ukraine.

The Air Force dwells on what kind of missiles Russia fired with.

"In the northern direction of the Tu-22M3 aircraft, the enemy used X-22 missiles, as well as ground-based missiles from operational and tactical complexes: Iskander and Tochka-U. In the southern direction, the occupiers used Onyx missiles operational and Bastion tactical complex," the message said.

According to the Air Force Telegram channel, the destruction of the mentioned Russian missiles "is an atypical and extremely difficult task for the air defense equipment available in Ukraine."

"After all, the speed of Onyx and X-22 missiles is over 3,000 km / h. And Iskander missiles fly on a ballistic trajectory," the defenders of Ukraine explain.

At the same time, "part of the occupiers' missiles were shot down by the air defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the Air Force said.

According to the adviser to the President's Office adviser Mykhailo Podoliak, during the night a total of 48 cruise missiles were fired across Ukraine.

Most of them flew to the Zhytomyr region. 10 missiles were shot down by air defense. However, one person was injured.

8 explosions were heard in the Kyiv region. All missiles were shot down.

Two missiles were shot down in Khmelnytsky region.

Desna was also shelled in the Chernihiv region. About 20 missiles arrived. There is destruction of infrastructure.

In the Lviv region, the Yavoriv district was shelled again. 2 missiles shot down air defense, 4 missiles arrived.

The vast majority were launched by Russian forces from Belarus, both from ground installations and from planes that deliberately entered the Belarusian airspace from the territory of the Russian Federation.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russian special services may then stage terrorist attacks in Belarus under the guise of 'Ukrainian forces'.

The Kremlin's goal is to try to draw Belarusians into the war with Ukraine in order to act in the north of Ukraine.
