Russia reduces Kostyantynivka to rubble, but no ground assault yet – DeepState
Russian forces have significantly intensified shelling of Kostyantynivka, using guided aerial bombs, fiber-optically controlled FPV drones, and tube artillery; however, there have been no attempts to enter the city
This was reported by the OSINT project DeepState.
Russian forces have recently stepped up attacks on Kostyantynivka, focusing heavily on FPV drones with fiber-optic control. They’re using them actively to strike targets in the city and along supply routes.
"At the same time, KAB bomb strikes continue, not just on Kostyantynivka but also on other rear settlements. In recent days, the use of these bombs has noticeably increased. But it's important to point out that Russia has made no attempts — and currently has no chance — to physically enter Kostyantynivka," the report states.
DeepState notes that holding Chasiv Yar is critical to stopping Russian forces from taking not only the city but also nearby areas that are key supply routes for the Ukrainian army. Defending the Stupochky area near Chasiv Yar is a top priority, as it is the last line of defense before Kostyantynivka. Ukrainian forces are doing everything they can to hold the line.
"At the same time, another route to Kostyantynivka is opening up if Russia keeps advancing at the current pace. We’re talking about gains near Sukha Balka, which Russian army recently took, and the Novoolenivka area, which the Russians have approached," DeepState reports.
- On April 30, it was confirmed that Russian forces had captured the settlement of Sukha Balka, located in the Bakhmut district of Donetsk region.
