Russia plans to sell 1.8 million tons of stolen Ukrainian grain for USD 1 billion - diplomat
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Lebanon Ihor Ostash says that the countries of the Middle East and Africa will depend on Ukrainian grain for a long time
He said this on Espreso TV.
“Ukraine is very important for the countries of the Middle East and Africa. Because there are quite difficult climatic conditions for growing grain and cereals. I want to draw attention to one detail. Suddenly, the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Patrushev, appeared in the public space and declared that Russia is ready to replace Ukrainian grain. That Russia is ready to supply 500,000 tons of grain to poor countries for free. And recently, a study by German journalists came out that Russia is going to sell 1.8 million tons of stolen Ukrainian grain worth USD 600 million, according to German experts. Although I think it's closer to USD 1 billion. This shows that Russia is ready to supply stolen Ukrainian grain for free,” Ostash emphasized.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary also added that stolen Ukrainian grain was detected in Lebanon.
“Ukraine is really saving the world. Now the alternative transport corridor through Izmail and Reni is also working well. It is from these ports that several ships leave for Lebanon, Egypt, and other countries of the Middle East every week,” Ostash emphasized.
