Russia plans to deploy 2,000 troops from Belarus to eastern Ukraine after exercises – State Border Guard Service
Russia intends to deploy 2,000 troops from Belarus to Donbas after the exercise. Ukraine is ready for any scenario
At a briefing on April 5, State Border Guard Service spokesman Andrii Demchenko said that the Russian command was rotating units.
“We are aware that certain measures have been taken to withdraw some Russian units from Belarus to the territory of Russia after the completion of training. Earlier we reported that there are about 4,000 Russian troops in Belarus. After the start of these measures, their number will decrease further,” Demchenko said.
“According to our data, about 2,000 Russian troops will leave Belarus. Russia plans to use them in the fighting in the east of Ukraine to strengthen their grouping,” he added.
According to Demchenko, there is no activity on the border with Belarus, but Ukraine is ready for any scenario, given that the enemy is treacherous.
