Russia may transfer Zaporizhzhia NPP to Rosatom - Institute for the Study of War
After IAEA statements confirming Ukraine do not misuse nuclear materials and do not develop a "dirty bomb" Russia may set conditions to imminently transfer the ZNPP to the Russian power grid. This can happen within 15 days.
Institute for the Study of War (ISW) writes about this.
On November 3, the International Atomic Energy Agency also stated that the shelling damaged the external power lines of the ZNPP in the territory controlled by Ukraine at points 50-60 km from the station, completely stopping the supply of electricity to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
This happened just a day after the Ukrainian authorities put two reactors on hot shutdown mode to generate heat for Energodar.
Such a move suggests that the Russian authorities are trying to force the transfer of ZNPP to the Russian grid, describing Russian control as the only viable opportunity to provide electricity and heat to ZNPP Energodar and the surrounding area.
The IAEA stated that backup generators power the Zaporizhzhia NPP and have enough fuel for 15 days. The Russian occupation authorities may transfer the ZNPP to the Russian power grid within this 15-day timeline.
