Russia may launch offensive on Ukraine simultaneously from north and east
The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine believes Russia may attack Ukraine simultaneously from the north and east, and try to capture the entire Donetsk region
This was stated by the representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Andriy Chernyak in a comment for RBC-Ukraine.
"According to the military intelligence of Ukraine, Russia will continue to try launching offensive actions next year. They failed to achieve their goal in any of the directions. They understand that they are losing, but they do not intend to end the war," he said.
"We are considering the possibility that they may simultaneously launch an offensive from the north or east. Such actions of the enemy are expected and our troops are ready for it," Chernyak added.
At the same time, the representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine called an offensive from Belarus unlikely, because there are not enough enemy troops concentrated there.
Chernyak is sure that Russia will try to hold the land corridor to Crimea and capture the entire Donetsk region. At the same time, it will not be able to force the Dnipro River to recapture Kherson, the representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine believes.
"According to the military intelligence of Ukraine, over the next 4 to 5 months the Russian army may lose up to 70,000 people. And the leadership of the occupying country is ready for such losses," Cherniak summed up.
- The head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov said that Russia is likely to close its borders in early January and hold a new wave of mobilization.
