Russia may destroy Odesa port infrastructure after grain is exported - Iliya Kusa
International policy expert at the Ukrainian Institute of the Future Iliya Kusa shares fears that Russia may destroy Ukraine's port infrastructure after the grain is exported
He shared his views on Espreso TV.
"Russia may escalate. When the export of grain from Ukrainian ports begins, or the grain has already been exported, the Russian Federation may launch missile strikes on the port infrastructure and elevators in Odesa and other ports," said Kusa.
The international expert added that the aggressor country, the Russian Federation, does not attack the ports, because negotiations regarding the export of grain are ongoing.
"The worst-case scenario is not even an attack on a grain ship or a mine detonation. Russia can destroy the ports and deprive Ukraine of the opportunity to export grain by sea in the near future. The Russian Federation has not fired missiles at this infrastructure yet, precisely because negotiations regarding the export of grain are ongoing," Iliya Kusa noted.
On July 13, a meeting of representatives of the military delegations of the defense ministries of Turkey, Ukraine, Russia and the UN delegation regarding the Ukrainian grain exports was held in Istanbul.
