The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to October 20, 2023, amounted to:

General Staff report: Russian troops resume offensive near Avdiivka, Ukrainian Armed Forces inflict significant losses on them
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported the information.
The operational situation has not changed in the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus.
In the northeastern border area, Russian forces maintain a grouping of troops, conducting active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to key frontline areas, and increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled over 30 attacks near Synkivka and Ivanivka, Kharkiv region, and 12 near Nadiya, Luhansk region.
In Lyman direction, defense forces prevented the loss of positions near Makiivka, Luhansk region.
In Bakhmut direction, Russian troops unsuccessfully tried to regain the lost position near Klishchiivka, Donetsk region. At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue assault operations south of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian army, and consolidating their positions.
In Avdiivka direction, Russian troops have resumed offensive actions and keep trying to surround Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers steadfastly hold the defense, inflicting numerous losses on Russian forces. Thus, over the last day, Russian losses amounted to almost 900 soldiers killed and wounded, nearly 50 tanks and over 100 units of armored vehicles destroyed and damaged. Moreover, Russia’s offensive actions were unsuccessful near Novokalynove, Stepove and Sieverne, Donetsk region.
In Marinka direction, Russian troops carried out 16 unsuccessful attacks near Marinka, Donetsk region.
In Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled attacks north of Zolota Nyva and Staromayorske, Donetsk region.
In Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian defenders prevented the loss of positions near Verbove.
In Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defence Forces conduct counter-battery operations, destroy Russian depots and successfully strike at the enemy's rear.
The Ukrainian Defence Forces are conducting an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying forces, consolidating their positions and exhausting Russian troops.
Russian army carries out 12 missile and 60 air strikes on Ukraine
Yesterday, Russian troops launched another missile attack with an Iskander-M ballistic missile on a civilian facility in Mykolaiv. In addition, they launched Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs on southern Ukraine, most of which were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense.
Over the past day, 90 combat clashes took place.
In total, Russia launched 12 missile strikes and 60 air strikes, and 53 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Private homes and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
Russian troops launched air strikes on 20 settlements across Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
About 150 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions came under artillery fire.
Ukrainian defenders have destroyed a Russian control center and 2 areas of personnel concentrations
Over the day, Ukrainian aviation struck a Russian command and control center, launched 13 strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment, and 4 more on anti-aircraft missile systems. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also destroyed 4 reconnaissance UAVs of the operational and tactical level.
The missile troops hit a control center, 2 concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment, 2 TOS-1A Solntsepek heavy flamethrower systems and 13 artillery pieces.

According to ISW, the Ukrainian offensive on the left bank of the Dnipro River seems to be more substantial in scale compared to previous raids. Geolocation footage indicates that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have established a presence along the Dnipro bank and near the Antonivskyi Bridge.
