Russia loses aircraft, 15 tanks, and 860 soldiers in one day – General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff shared their regular report, as below.

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to October 30, 2023, amounted to:

• personnel – about 299,940 (+860)
• tanks ‒ 5,190 (+15)
• armored personnel vehicles ‒ 9,775 (+17)
• artillery systems - 7,202 (+14)
• MLRS – 834 (+0)
• anti-aircraft warfare systems ‒ 559 (+1)
• aircraft – 321 (+1)
• helicopters – 324 (+0)
• UAVs of the operational-tactical level – 5,419 (+20)
• cruise missiles ‒ 1,544 (+0)
• warships/boats ‒ 20 (+0)
• submarines - 1 (+0)
• vehicles and fuel tanks – 9,555 (+23)

About 60 combat clashes take place at the frontlines, Russia is trying to surround Avdiivka

In the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed. 

In the northeastern border area, Russian forces maintain a grouping of troops covering the state border, conducting active sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops conducted unsuccessful assault operations with the support of aviation near Synkivka and Ivanivka, Kharkiv region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 7 attacks there.

In the Lyman direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled a Russian assault near Terny, Donetsk region. 

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops also tried to regain lost ground near Andriivka. In turn, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continued their assault operations south of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on Russian troops, and consolidating their positions.

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops try to surround Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the defense, inflicting numerous losses on Russian forces. Russia’s offensive actions near Avdiivka and 3 more settlements in the Donetsk region were unsuccessful; the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled over 10 attacks.

In the Marinka direction, Russian troops carried out unsuccessful attacks near Marinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region. Ukrainian soldiers repelled over 20 attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled all attacks near Vuhledar, Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian troops tried to regain the lost position west of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region, but were unsuccessful.

In the Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defence Forces conduct counter-battery operations, destroy Russian depots, and successfully strike at the enemy's rear.

The Ukrainian Defence Forces are conducting an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying forces, consolidating their positions, and exhausting Russian troops.

Russian forces launch an attack on Ukraine using Shahed drones: anti-aircraft defenses successfully intercept and down all of them

In total, Russia fired 1 missile and 88 airstrikes, launching 70 MLRS attacks against both Ukrainian military positions and civilian areas. These Russian attacks resulted in casualties among the civilian population, as well as damage to private homes and other civilian infrastructure.

Additionally, on the night of October 30, Russian troopss carried out another aerial assault on Ukraine, deploying 12 Shahed-136/131 attack drones. Ukrainian anti-aircraft defenses effectively neutralized all 12 drones.

Russian troops launched air strikes on 24 settlements across Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.

More than 100 settlements across Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions were targeted by artillery fire.

Ukrainian Defense Forces launch over 20 airstrikes on Russian positions

In the past 24 hours, Ukraine's Air Force  launched 16 airstrikes targeting Russian personnel, weapons, and military equipment.

Ukrainian missile units targeted 6 Russian personnel, weapons, and military equipment concentrations. They also hit a command post, destroyed 3 anti-aircraft missile systems, and disabled 6 artillery pieces.

• On Monday night, October 30, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 12 drones and 2 Kh-59 guided missiles. Ukrainian air defense shot down all air targets.
