Russia loses about 40,230 soldiers, 1,742 tanks and 729 drones starting war in Ukraine

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff shared their regular report, as below.

The total Russian combat losses from February 24 to July 28 amounted to:

•  personnel - about 40,230 (+160 per day) 

•   tanks - 1,742 (+4)

•   armored fighting vehicles - 3,979 (+8) 

•   artillery systems - 894 (+11)

•   MLRS - 258 

•   air defense systems - 117 

•   aircraft - 222

•   helicopters - 190 

•   vehicles and tank trucks - 2,854 (+7) 

•   ships/boats - 15

•   UAV operational-tactical level - 729 (+3)

•   special equipment - 75 

•   cruise missiles - 174

On July 27, Russian forces suffered the greatest losses in the Kryvyi Rih (Dnipropetrovsk region - Ed.) direction.
