Russia loses 530 soldiers, 19 armored vehicles, and 9 drones in one day

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, the enemy has lost 254,380 soldiers. On August 13, more than 30 combat clashes happened at the front

This is stated by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.

The total combat losses of the enemy from February 24, 2022 to August 14, 2023 were approximately:

  • personnel — about 254,380 (+530) 
  • tanks ‒ 4306 (+8)
  • armored personnel vehicles ‒ 8354 (+19)
  • artillery systems – 5099 (+27)
  • MLRS – 714 (+1)
  • anti-aircraft warfare systems ‒ 479 (+2)
  • aircraft – 315 (+0)
  • helicopters – 313 (+0)
  • UAVs operational-tactical level - 4213 (+9)
  • cruise missiles ‒ 1379 (+0)
  • warships/boats ‒ 18 (+0)
  • vehicles and fuel tanks — 7562 (+19)
  • special equipment ‒ 766 (+6)

Russians tried to reclaim lost positions near Andriivka, Klishchiivka, Staromayorske, and Robotyne

During August 13, 33 combat clashes took place. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the morning briefing on August 14. 

 

Situation in different regions of Ukraine 

On the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed. 

On the northeastern border with Russia, Russian troops launched mortar and artillery attacks, targeting a total of over 15 settlements across Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops shelled 5 settlements across the Kharkiv region. Ukrainian forces hold the defense, while Russians try to advance near Andriivka. 

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops shelled over 15 settlements across the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Two areas were subjected to air strikes.  

In the Bakhmut direction, Russians shelled over 20 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery. Ukrainian forces successfully repelled Russian attacks in the area of Andriivka and Klishchiivka. One area was subjected to air strikes. 

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian troops shelled 7 settlements with artillery, and Avdiivka suffered from air strikes. Ukrainian forces repelled all the attacks near Avdiivka. 

In the Marinka direction, Russian troops shelled over 10 settlements in the Donetsk region with artillery and launched air strikes in one area. Ukrainian forces hold the defense near Marinka. 

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops shelled over 10 settlements and launched air strikes near 2 settlements. They tried to reclaim lost positions near Staromayorske. 

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian troops tried to advance near Robotyne, but unsuccessfully. They shelled over 40 settlements across Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. Six areas suffered from air strikes. 

Meanwhile, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue their offensive operation in Melitopol and Berdyansk directions. They are holding their positions and countering enemy attacks.

 

Russia launched 2 missile and 43 air strikes against Ukraine

On August 13, the Russian occupiers fired 2 missiles, carried out 43 air strikes, and launched about 55 MLRS attacks on the positions of Ukrainian soldiers and areas where people live.

These Russian terrorist attacks resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population, including children. Homes and other important buildings were also destroyed.

The chance of more missile and air attacks across all of Ukraine is still very likely.

 

AFU hit 2 Russian artillery systems in firing positions, a EW station, and an anti-aircraft vehicle 

The Defense Forces' planes made 12 attacks on places where the enemy's soldiers, weapons, and military equipment were gathered. They also targeted 6 anti-aircraft missile systems.

The missile forces and artillery units targeted and hit 2 enemy artillery pieces, 1 anti-aircraft missile system, 1 electronic warfare (EW) station, and 1 Russian air defense equipment piece.

  • The artillery units of the Defense Forces in the Tavria direction carried out 1,630 firing operations in one day, and in doing so, they eliminated 269 enemy occupiers.
