Russia loses 2 tanks, 3 armored personnel carriers and 350 soldiers in one day of war in Ukraine — General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff shared their regular report, as below.

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to October 9, 2023, amounted to:

• personnel - about 282,630 (+350 per day) 
• tanks - 4,823 (+2)
• armored fighting vehicles - 9,126 (+3)
• artillery systems - 6,706 (+1)
• MLRS - 808
• air defense systems - 543 (+1)
• aircraft - 315
• helicopters - 316
• vehicles and tank trucks - 9,113 (+2)
• ships/boats - 20
• submarines - 1
• UAV operational-tactical level - 5,190 
• special equipment - 959

37 combat clashes take place on the frontline in a day

According to the Ukrainian General Staff, Russia launched 6 air strikes and 29 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian objects in the country. 

Six settlements across Sumy, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions were hit by Russian air strikes.

Over 90 settlements in Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions came under Russian artillery fire.

Frontline update: Ukrainian defense forces make progress near Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region

In the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus, the operational situation has not changed. 

In the northeastern border area, Russian forces maintain a grouping of troops covering the state border, conducting active sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 3 attacks near Synkivka and Ivanivka, Kharkiv region.

In Lyman direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 4 attacks near Makiivka, Luhansk region.

In Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian forces repelled attacks north of Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka.

In Avdiivka and Marinka directions, Russian troops carried out 15 unsuccessful attacks near Avdiivka, Marinka, and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region.

In Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops did not conduct any offensive operations.

The Ukrainian Defence Forces are conducting an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, with partial success west of Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region. Ukrainian soldiers are also conducting offensive (assault) operations in the Bakhmut direction, having partial success near Klishchiivka and Andriivka.

In Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defence Forces conduct counter-battery operations, destroy Russian depots and successfully strike at the enemy's rear.

Ukrainian Defense Forces missile units hit two Russian warehouses

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation carried out 3 strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment.

Ukrainian missile troops destroyed 3 Russian artillery units, 2 radar stations, 2 concentrations of personnel and 2 ammunition depots.
