A car and an outbuilding were set on fire by a Russian strike in the Odesa region, the Ukrainian State Emergency Service reported.11 nearby buildings were damaged.
"According to preliminary data, 11 people were injured at the scene, including 3 children, and after examination by medical personnel, 5 people were hospitalized with injuries, including 3 children," the statement reads. Rescuers add that a mobile heating station has been set up at the site, psychologists from the State Emergency Service are working with the victims and residents, and the Red Cross has organized the delivery of food and warm clothes.
Serhiy Bratchuk, the spokesman for the Ukrainian Volunteer Army South, commented on the Russian attack on the Odesa region.
"Port infrastructure was the main target of the invaders. As a result of the strike, there were fragments of debris and a dormitory was damaged. Several cars were also destroyed and private buildings were damaged," he told Espreso TV channel. The victims are now being provided with all necessary medical care. There are no reports of deaths so far, Bratchuk said.
According to him, the attacks took place in several waves. "There were 4 or 5 attacks from the sea and Crimea. According to preliminary information, one of the Shaheds was flying over the territory of Romania. This has not been confirmed yet, but launching targets along the border is a traditional tactic of the occupiers," added Bratchuk.
Meanwhile, Oleh Kiper, the head of the Regional Military Administration, said that two 8-year-old boys and a 12-year-old girl suffered contusions and closed head injuries, while adults had concussions and wounds.
"In addition, 11 buildings were damaged due to Russian terror. Two cars burned to the ground. The fire was extinguished," Kiper wrote. According to him, the invaders also attacked the Izmail district. Terrorists sent more than 20 attack drones there. They targeted the port infrastructure there, destroying warehouses.
