Russia launches over 1,200 missiles, UAVs at Ukraine's key energy facilities, causing USD 1 billion worth of damage
Russia's army has launched at least 1,200 missiles and UAVs at Ukraine's key energy facilities, and over USD 1 billion is needed to restore them
The Verkhovna Rada's (Ukrainian parliament) press service reported this.
According to Andriy Herus, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy, Housing and Utilities, Russia has fired more than 1,200 missiles and drones at key facilities of Ukraine's energy system. According to “the most conservative estimates,” at least UAH 40 billion is needed to restore it.
“The safety margin has seriously decreased and needs to be restored by next winter. Today, we need to work to make the next heating season easier and more predictable than this winter... This is what the main discussions are about: where to get the money to repair damaged energy infrastructure, install additional protection and create reserve stocks,” he said.
