Russia launches missile attack on Sumy, drops explosives on civilians
On December 9, the Russian army have launched at least 48 strikes on border settlements of the Sumy region, north-eastern Ukraine
Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, shared the information on Telegram.
Russian troops struck the 3 border communities of the Sumy region a total of 48 times.
"The enemy shelled a village of Shalyhyne community with 120 mm mortars 8 times. In the Yunakivka community, 40 Russian mines of 120 mm caliber exploded on the outskirts, not far from the border with Russia. In both cases, no casualties occurred and nothing was damaged," writes Zhyvytskyi.
The Bilopillia community suffered Russian attacks on December 8. A Russian drone dropped explosives on a civilian house. A fire broke out and the house burned to the ground. Luckily, residents of the house were not home at the time of the attack.
On December 9, Russian troops launched missiles at the Velyka Pysarivka community after 10:00 p.m., causing significant destruction to civilian infrastructure.
