
Russia launches deadly missile attack on Ukrainian soldiers on Missile Forces Day
On Friday, November 3, Russia launched a missile attack on the personnel of the 128th detached mountain assault brigade of the Transcarpathian region
The Center for Strategic Communications reported the information.
"The enemy launched an Iskander-M missile at the personnel of the 128th separate mountain assault brigade, killing the soldiers and causing injuries to local residents of varying degrees of severity. The circumstances are currently being investigated," the statement said.
Ukrainian Defence Minister Umerov's reaction
Defense Minister of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, expressed his condolences to the families of the killed soldiers from the 128th Brigade.
"All the circumstances of what happened will be clarified. I instruct the Chief Inspectorate of the Ministry of Defense to conduct a full investigation into this tragedy. Our enemy is a cunning terrorist. We have to make every effort to protect our people and give all honest answers to the families and friends of the fallen soldiers," the Defense Minister said.
Soldiers gathered for line-up - media
Ukrainska Pravda and Suspilne reported the information, citing sources in the Interior Ministry and the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to Suspilne, the tragedy occurred in a frontline village in the Zaporizhzhia region. Russian terrorists launched a missile at a group of soldiers of the 128th separate mountain assault brigade of Transcarpathia. The soldiers were gathered and lined up for the celebrations of the Day of Missile Forces and Artillery.
Ukrainska Pravda reported that over 20 soldiers were killed in the strike. There are also wounded. The Ukrainian General Staff told Suspilne that they do not comment on losses since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
The Transcarpathian Regional State Administration’s response
The tragedy was indirectly reported by the head of the Transcarpathian Regional Administration, Viktor Mykyta.
"I ask all locals, communities, entrepreneurs in catering establishments to refrain from any entertainment events, concerts, etc. in the next few days. I advise you to visit churches and pray for our defenders," Mykyta wrote.
He also added that after the official information is released and with the permission of the 128th Brigade, an order will be issued to honor the fallen soldiers.
