Russia launches 7 missile and 15 airstrikes in a day, medics from Crimea arrive in occupied Kherson region for Russian military - AFU General Staff

Over January 20, Russian troops launched 7 missile and 15 airstrikes. Three missiles were aimed at Kramatorsk and Huliaipole.

There were also 68 MLRS attacks, in particular, on the civilian infrastructure of Nikopol.

In the Kherson region, Russian forces converted kindergartens into field hospitals and brought medics from Crimea to several settlements for the needs of the military: medical facilities are not available for local residents

Medical facilities in the temporarily occupied Kherson region are overcrowded: Russian forces are turning kindergartens into field hospitals.

"Also, all doctors in the central hospital of Nyzhni Sirohozy have been replaced, and only the personnel of the Russian occupying forces are now treated there. The situation is similar in Kalanchak, where local doctors were fired and medical personnel from Crimea were brought to replace them. Local residents are not allowed to visit the hospital," the General Staff noted.

In the Luhansk region, more than 300 injured Russians are being treated in the surgical department of the Starobilsk city hospital.

Ukrainian Armed Forces repel Russian attacks near 12 settlements

Over January 20, Ukrainian defenders repelled Russian attacks near 3 settlements in the Luhansk region and 9 in the Donetsk region.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces aviation launched 18 strikes on concentrations of Russian manpower and 4 on the positions of Russian anti-aircraft missile systems.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces also shot down 2 reconnaissance Orlan-10 and Merlin-VR UAVs.

"Our missile and artillery units hit the control center, 2 personnel concentrations and an ammunition warehouse," the General Staff added.

Situation in other directions

The General Staff noted that despite the fact that Russia keeps certain units on the northern border with Ukraine, experts did not detect enemy offensive groups.

The Armed Forces of Russia and Belarus are actively reconnoitering the facilities of the neighboring states, including Ukraine.

Russian artillery and mortar fire affected 1 settlement in the Sumy region and 14 in the Kharkiv region.

In the Kupiansk direction, Russian troops fired from tanks, mortars, cannon and rocket artillery at 8 settlements in the Kharkiv region and 2 more in the Luhansk region.

In the Lyman direction, 8 settlements in the Luhansk region were under Russian fire from all available weapons.

In the Bakhmut direction, 15 settlements in the Donetsk region suffered Russian attacks.

In the Avdiivka direction, 9 settlements in the Donetsk region were hit by Russian fire.

In the Vuhledar direction, Vuhledar and 2 other settlements in the Donetsk region were shelled.

In the Zaporizhzhya direction, tank, mortar and artillery fire hit 2 settlements in the Donetsk region and 10 more in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, Russian troops once again shelled Marhanets and Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as Antonivka and Kherson with cannon and rocket artillery. There are civilian casualties.
