Russia launches 5 missile attacks, 22 air strikes, 42 MLRS attacks – General Staff

On April 2, Russian troops launched 5 missile and 22 air strikes, and also carried out 42 MLRS attacks on Ukrainian positions and civilian infrastructure

This was reported by the AFU General Staff on the evening of April 2.

"Today, Russian troops carried out 2 rocket strikes and conducted a massive MLRS shelling on the Kostyantynivka center, Donetsk region, killing and injuring civilians, damaging a children's preschool, high-rise buildings and private residential buildings," the report says.

Russia continues offensive actions in four directions

Russia is concentrating its main efforts on launching offensives in Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions. 

Northern and northeastern border with Belarus and Russia: the operational situation has not changed significantly.

During the day, Russian troops shelled 4 settlements in the Sumy region, as well as 4  settlements in the Kharkiv region.

Kupiansk direction: 6 settlements in the Kharkiv and Luhansk regions came under Russian fire.

Lyman direction: five settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions were hit by artillery fire.

Bakhmut direction: during the day, Russians shelled 8 settlements in the Donetsk region.

Avdiivka and Marinka directions: Russian troops fired at 6 settlements.

Shakhtarsk direction: during the day, Russian troops shelled 5 settlements in the Donetsk region.

Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions: Russian troops shelled populated areas next to the line of military confrontation. Among them are one settlement in the Donetsk region, 5 more settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as 7 settlements in the Kherson region and the city of Kherson.

The report also notes that the Russian army continues to suffer huge losses. To replenish them, Russian military units stationed in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea are actively mobilizing conscripts. Russians tell the conscripts about the need to sign contracts with the Russian Ministry of Defense and to participate in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine.

Ukraine’s Armed Forces launch 8 strikes on Russian military personnel and equipment positions

During the day, the AFU Air Force carried out 8 strikes on Russian military personnel and equipment positions. Units of missile troops and artillery hit one Russian personnel position, one command post and two other important enemy objects.
