Russia launches 21 Shahed drones at night, Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy 16 - General Staff

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces shared the information in a morning report on March 22.

Thus, last night, on March 22, the Russian army launched another massive air strike with Shahed-136 UAVs. According to preliminary information, 16 drones out of 21 launched by the Russian enemy were destroyed by Ukrainian soldiers.

The threat of enemy strikes remains throughout Ukraine.

Last day, Russians attacked in 5 directions, while defending in other areas

The Russian Federation continues its armed aggression against Ukraine, and tries to fully seize Donetsk and Luhansk regions. 

The enemy is conducting offensives at the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Marinka and Vuhledar directions, while defending at other sectors.

Ukrainian troops repel 114 Russian attacks, shoot down 15 drones and 2 air missiles in 24 hours

On March 21, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 114 enemy attacks in the eastern part of the frontline.

During the day, the Ukraine's Defense Forces aviation carried out 6 strikes on the invaders' concentration areas.

At the same time, Ukrainian defenders shot down 15 enemy UAVs of various types, as well as 2 X-59 guided missiles.

Missile and artillery units hit an ammunition depot, 2 anti-aircraft missile systems, a radar station and one other important Russian object.

Russia carried out 32 air strikes and fired 90 MLRS at Ukraine

The Russian aggressor continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, shelling populated areas and critical infrastructure.

Over the past day, the Russian occupiers carried out 10 missile and 32 air strikes, as well as 90 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems, including civilian objects.

Situation in different directions

The operational situation in the Northern and Northeastern Ukrainian borders remains unchanged, and no enemy offensive groups were detected. 

However, the top leadership of the Belarusian Republic continues to support the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, providing its infrastructure for training enemy units. The enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas. 

Over the past day, the Russian aggressor fired at 2 settlements in Chernihiv region; 7 in Sumy region and 6 in Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk and Lyman directions, the invaders try to break Ukrainian defense. They conducted unsuccessful offensives in the vicinity of 4 settlements. 

The Russians fired artillery near 6 settlements in Kharkiv region, 3 in Luhansk region, and 3 in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Russian enemy continues to conduct offensive operations, losing a significant amount of manpower, weapons and military equipment. 

However, Ukrainian defenders repelled numerous enemy attacks around the clock in the vicinity of 7 settlements. 

In particular, 13 settlements in the Donetsk region came under enemy fire.

In the Avdiivka, Marinka and Vuhledar directions, the occupying Russian forces conducted offensive actions in the vicinity of 11 settlements, but failed.

Almost 20 unsuccessful offensive attempts were made by the enemy in the area of Marinka city. 

10 settlements in the Donetsk region came under enemy fire.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the Russian enemy is defending itself. 

Districts of 1 settlement in Donetsk region, 9 in Zaporizhzhia region, as well as Kherson, Beryslav, Poniativka, Dariivka and Antonivka were shelled.

• On the night of March 21-22, air defense was also active in Kyiv region, Zhytomyr and Khmelnytskyi regions.
